Stephen Dongmin Kang
I am most interested in fundamental materials science problems related to charge transport, non-equilibrium thermodynamics, and phase transitions. At the same time, I try to stay close to technologically important materials. My current appointment at Stanford involves materials relevant to lithium-ion batteries. In the past, I have worked on projects for thermoelectrics, energy harvesting, and phase change memories.
I take pleasure in learning through collaboration. I’ve worked with solid-state chemists, electrochemists, condensed-matter physicists, DFT scientists, just to name a few. I’d be happy to chat if you have something interesting to discuss!
